LPL were formed in late 2001.
Guitarist, Mike Parmele, and Drummer, Rob West, had been in a short
lived band together in the late 90's after meeting each other at
work. In the Fall of 2001, the two began looking for a bass player
and singer to form a new band. Mike, through a friend, was
introduced to bass player and singer Rob Wallace. Rob was a seasoned
stage performer that was looking to put a band together as well.
After only a couple of practice sessions together, they realized
that they were onto something fresh and unique, and Lead Pipe Lock
was born. With Wallace's unique vocals and smooth bass riffs,
blended with Mike's fuzzy guitar presence and solid beats from the
West, LPL have put together a formidable collection of Rock N"
Roll.
The band's musical influences vary
widely, but begin with such classic artists as Buddy Holly, The
Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and The Beach Boys. The common ground
that was finally met between them, musically, were with bands such
as The Ramones, Green Day, Weezer and Elvis Costello. They have a
dynamic mix that is raw, powerful and combined with influences
from all over the Rock N' Roll spectrum.
